"CURIOSITY + ADAPTABILITY = CONSISTENT IMPROVEMENT" "It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts." - Harry Truman
What do these leaders: Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Jefferson, Frederick, Douglas, Albert Einstein, John F. Kennedy, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Austen, Harriet, Beecher Stowe, Mary Shelley, Sojourner Truth, Queen Elizabeth I, Susan B Anthony, Louisa May Alcott and Simone de Beauvoir have in common?
What do these Coaches: Pat Summit, Dawn Staley, Muffet McGraw, Sue Enquist, Jill Ellis, Becky Hammond, Carol Hutchins, Tara Vanderveer, John Wooden, Vince Lombardi, Bill Belichick, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Greg Popovich, Nick Saban, and Bill Walsh all have in common?
All these famous historical figures and coaches were lifelong learners whose curiosity made them voracious readers on a wide variety of topics. Their curiosity led them to constantly read to gain new ideas and adapt their thinking. The result was consistent improvement. Long term greatness is not an accident.
Click on this link Leaders by Leader Reading List to review the details. I hope you find some great books to grow with. I would highly recommend the free ChatGPT to get more information on leaders and books you find interesting. Issue 456 provides you with a great message on curiosity in general.
Curiosity has four different categories you can move forward with:
John Wooden read and learned in all four of these areas. His curiosity went from Socrates to Shakespeare to Lincoln to Other Great Coaches from all sports.
With regard to learning and leadership, Coach put it this way: "A leader who is through learning is through. And so is the team such a leader leads."
Are you growing in any of these areas?
Yours in Coaching, Craig Impelman

Muhammad Ali on How He Would Like To Be Remembered I would like them to say he took a few cups of love. He took one tablespoon of patience, one tablespoon of generosity, one pint of kindness; he took one quart of laughter, one piece of concern, and then he mixed willingness with happiness.
